Kids Ballroom Dance Program in Cambridge Public Schools
Since the launch of its pilot initiative in 2004 with Citizens Schools, this school-based, dance education program, under the direction of Jane Rexroad, impacted the lives of nearly 10,350 middle school students (Grade 5) at participating public schools in Cambridge and Ipswich, MA.
Visionary Steps Charitable Foundation and Competing for a Cause teamed up with Jane Rexroad to provide support with funding, promotion, and program logistics. The Kids Ballroom Dance Program used goal setting, movement, and dance practice to open new pathways for creative expression, social interaction, physical fitness, and connection to community.

Dance has always been an integral part of her being. After years of studying classical at the Princeton Ballet School (now American Repertory Ballet), she discovered her love of ballroom dancing. She has competed in all 4 styles (Latin, Rhythm, Standard, and Smooth), and garnered both national and world pro-am titles at competitions across the U.S.
She has since become a passionate advocate of dance education and advancing the goals of amateur competitors.
